This is a new addition to the website. We’ve received lots of kudos for the horizons we’re moving toward. I thought it might be good to make a public place for that. So here it is. Register and comment away!
Glad to have you on board.

I am also a newcomer to Parkrose. I was invited by a Vine Time participant and Parkrose member. This worship format was foreign to me, but with the warmth embrace of every single person in the group, I knew I had found something different, something special about Parkrose that I had been missing. The awkwardness of meeting new people vanished instantly. I believe it is the relationships, the intimacy that’s shared that is so special. Everyone is themselves; they are not only accepting, but loving, authentic and kind. Not only have they embraced me, but my children as well. Parkrose’s intercultural mix is real beauty in my eyes; for in this setting, we have the opportunity to see and be seen for who we are as God’s children and celebrate each other’s unique, rich beauty reflected in music, song, culture, language, food and traditions, yet all as one single family in Christ.
I have a found a wonderful home here; I feel so blessed!

I am thrilled to have found a Spiritual home with Parkrose United Methodist Church. I was looking for a community of faith that would help inspire my love for God and encourage me to live a meaningful life by following in the footsteps of Jesus who embraced all kinds of people and who took action to make life better in the wider world.
Parkrose is that kind of church.
I am moved by the four fellowships who share one faith in God and who embrace each other though we come from different backgrounds and cultures. The Oromo fellowship started by brothers and sisters from Africa who live in the area worship under the same roof as the Hispanic fellowship who meet here and enrich our community, too. There is a smaller VineTime covenant and worshipping group who find great meaning in an interactive style of spiritual practice and service. All these new groups are embraced by the longstanding Parkrose UMC congregation.
There is a oneness in Christ that goes beyond mere words about embracing diversity in love. You see it in action and in the different faces of real people whose cultures are expressed and honored.
Though, I am fairly new to Parkrose UMC, I see myself staying for a long time. There is an integrity and wholeness in what this group of people are trying to do in the way they live out their Christian faith which draws me. I want to be a part of a faith that matters in everyday life.
My soul is nutured here and I find myself more centered and in tune with what is important in life, and at the same encouraged to move out to be a positive and caring presence in the world through love in action.
I feel God in all this. Christianity is not just a set a sweet set of ideas here. It is embodied in the way people treat each other and in the way they reach beyond themselves for the common good of the neighborhood and the world. I know that I can grow here and I feel very accepted here.
If you are looking for a fellowship of friendly, open and broadminded people who will travel with you on a Spiritual journey, this may well be the community you are looking for. I sure am glad I discovered these wonderful people who are so accepting and encouraging. The congregation is not so large that you get lost in the shuffle. You can actually get to know the people in the congregation and its various fellowships.
Come check it out!
